Barbie: The Princess and the Popstar is an animated direct-to-video film scheduled to be released in the fall of 2012
in celebration of Universal's centennial anniversary. It is the twenty-third in the Barbie film series and the second
Barbie film (the first was
Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper) to be based on
The Prince and the Pauper by Mark Twain.
Plot Barbie: The Princess and the Popstar
Tori is a blonde princess who is bored of living her royal life, and
has dreams of becoming a popstar. Keira, on the other hand, is a
brunette popstar who dreams of being a princess. When the two meet, they
magically trade places, but after realising it is best to be
themselves. Crider plans to steal the spolight to himself.

- Princess Tori (Kelly Sheridan (speaking), Jennifer Waris
(singing) - The princess of Meribella (portrayed by Barbie). Bored with
how her restrictive her royal life has become, she dreams of becoming
popstar like Keira.
- Keira (Ashleigh Ball (speaking), Tiffany Giardina (singing) - A popstar (portrayed by Barbie) who is also bored of her fame and dreams to be a princess.
